What the Clear Channel sale means for Radio

Clear Channel agreed to a buyout valued at $26.7 billion.

As the largest player in the radio game, this move has the potential to reshape the radio industry for years to come.

Bill Figenshu is COO of Softwave Media, a leading electronic marketplace for buying, selling and managing radio and television advertising time. Fig is also a former regional president for Citadel and one-time president of Viacom’s radio division.

I talked with Fig about the consequences of this move for radio and, as you’ll hear, good things are likley to be ahead – for employees, station buyers, and listeners alike.
