Steve Dahl has one of the simplest (and thus best) descriptions for the layperson of what podcasting is on his podcast page. It says simply:
“Podcasting automatically detects and downloads newly posted shows ala TiVo. It can also automatically install them on a portable media player.”
That about covers it!
