1. That the entertainment establishment (which includes Radio) would appropriate the Podcasting phenomenon and steal much of its thunder (because the entertainment industry is where the talent is) 2. That they would use it both for promotional purposes and as a profit center
Well today comes this news. Evidently Rush Limbaugh is joining the Podcasting bandwagon. Podcasts of his show will be available to premium members for $49.95 per year (which, I believe, is the cost of membership. Not the cost of the podcasts).
Do the math, folks.
If you move your listening to a time that’s convenient for your listeners your listenership can only go up.
Meanwhile you swap advertising revenue for subscription revenue. And the latter is a much more reliable stream. Just ask your cable company.
