FM + iPod — shouldn’t radio be promoting this new marriage?
This is not a “marriage.” It’s more like a notch in the iPod headboard. There’s nothing here for us to promote, and it’s absurd to imagine otherwise.
Let me ask you this: How much of a typical iPod user’s listening is likely to be radio vs. mp3’s on his or her iPod? Hmm?
So when you promote this “marriage” what are you really promoting, besides a desperate plea for relevance? As an industry, we need to think about these issues more than superficially.
