Contrary to some impressions of likely diarykeepers as being a bit low-tech, the truth is the opposite. A new Point-To-Point/Mercury Radio Research study says 70% of them use e-mail often. Twenty percent use instant messaging, and already 10-15% use text messaging often. Overall, the top text-message formats are CHR/Rhythmic, Latin, Urban, CHR/Pop, Sports and Active Rock.
