Fewer songs on your iPod good for radio?

mramsey1

“People are putting fewer songs on their iPods,” says Inside Radio “which could be good for radio.”

Absolutely wrong.

It has been common knowledge for some time that there aren’t that many songs on iPods, and this is no doubt why the latest and coolest iPods have a smaller capacity, not a larger one.

But why would anyone imagine that fewer songs on an iPod is good news for radio?

Remember, these may be fewer but these are all the ones that listener wants to hear right now.

Radio has got to get this through it’s head: It’s not about the number of songs or the variety thereof. It’s about the power of choice and who has the power.
