Camera phones more popular than music phones, but…

From the Center for Media Research:

According a forthcoming report from Parks Associates, using data from a survey of more than 2,000 U.S. Internet users:

– 52% (10.2 million homes) intend to buy a mobile phone with an integrated camera – 30% (5.9 million homes) are planning to purchase a mobile phone capable of downloading music.

I’m assuming the totals are among those who intend to buy a mobile phone in the near future.

Yes, camera phones are more popular, but they’re also much more established. I don’t know about you but 30% of the mobile phone market is a pretty darn big number for music downloading phones. Remember, virtually ALL of your listeners have mobile phones, and most of them upgrade their phones every couple of years or so. The demand for this technology will only grow.

You want radio to be digital? Skip the distraction of HD and put it on the mobile phones.

That’s where your competition will be.
