He has written for Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Saturday Night Live, and King of the Hill, and he’s in charge of the U.S. version of British hit The Office, so Greg Daniels knows a thing or two about how to create “funny.”
Here’s an excerpt from a Q&A with Greg from the latest issue of Fast Company:
We have long meetings where we sit around and discuss the stories. Sometimes I’ll give exercises, like we have to come up with five ideas in the next half hour. Anything we come up with that sounds funny, we write on an index card and put on the corkboard.
