From Radio & Records:
Infinity Restricts Consulting Deals To Seven Firms
R&R has obtained a copy of an Infinity corporate memo that orders all stations to cease doing business with any research or consulting company or individual other than Gary Berkowitz, Coleman Research, Harker Research (exclusively for callout), Mercury Research, Pinnacle Media, Pollack Media or Zapoleon Media Strategies, which also owns a stake in Mercury and Pinnacle. The memo says Infinity has negotiated group deals to save $4.8 million per year; last year the company reportedly spent $8 million on research and consulting across numerous vendors. Word is that not all of those savings are from negotiated deals; some are thought to come from work being handled in-house by top Infinity programmers. Several sources confirmed the memo to R&R late today.
