A Tale of Two Tees

As part of hivio, the audio future festival, I'm producing a free t-shirt for all who attend. My instructions to the designers were to represent the power of audio - the theme of the event. I took the leading ideas and did a poll for folks who were interested in hivio, and that poll had some clear results. This was the winner: And this design was the runner-up. The final decision, of course, was mine. So now I'm going to tell you why I picked the runner-up over the "winner." Praise was effusive for the leader: "Now that says audio!" one person wrote. And indeed it … [Read more...]

You are Invited to hivio 2015 – the Audio Future Festival

There are events for radio and online radio and digital and local revenue and commercial and public and Christian broadcasters, but there's no event for people across the audio space to gather together in one place at one time. Audio is one medium, and hivio, the audio future festival, is that one event. I'm proud to announce that tickets are available for the third annual hivio audio future festival - this year in Los Angeles at the legendary Hollywood Improv. Who's on the stage? We have one speaker who is a Forbes “Top 30 under 30” and another whose company was just picked as one … [Read more...]

Growth hacking is at the heart of how today's hot tech startups get off the ground. No wonder Mark was a hit at hivio 2014. Among the questions he addresses: What is “growth hacking”? The Booming Business of Podcasting – PodcastOne’s Rob Greenlee

Just how big is podcasting, and how are consumers and advertisers embracing the platform? That was the topic I covered with PodcastOne's Rob Greenlee in this spectacular conversation from hivio, the audio future festival. At about the halfway point, we're joined by "Randall," the hilarious YouTube icon famous for "badass" honey badger videos (Randall had a podcast running on PodcastOne at the time). Rob answers these and other questions: Just how popular are podcasts? There are a zillion podcasts and lots of ways to consume them. Where does PodcastOne fit in? Metrics – Where are … [Read more...]
