Last.fm hits XBOX Live

Want a taste for a rich "radio" experience that fits its medium like a glove?

Sample CBS-owned Last.fm on XBOX Live – or watch this video.

This is an example of something I talk about all the time:  When you switch media (in this case – web to XBOX, but in our case – audio-only to a mix of audio, video, and interactivity) you also switch the content itself to something matched to that medium.

As radio transforms down new digital pathways that would be good to keep in mind.

We're not absent opportunities, folks.

  • Well, I think your premise is part of the problem. And it's not just your premise, it's the premise for many folks in radio (so in no way is it your fault).
This is a time of possibility explored - not a time for what you aptly called "radio as we know it."
  • this is great - but its not radio as we know it, in fact - its music and not radio at all.
radio is driven by broadcast ego (where we tell people what is best) where we can control what the audience hears. last.fm and simliar services are ego-less, in other words, the user is the creator and chooses what they want.
does extending last.fm to be part of the TV experience put radio in a stronger position or weaker?
