What Radio Can Be

This is one of the best presentations I've ever given, and it is relevant to anyone in radio, whether or not your station is directed at a Christian audience.  It's from this year's Momentum Conference in Orlando.

The key is that we should be aligning the structure of our entities with the goals we're trying to achieve. And that is particularly true in this time where the lines between what we are and what we're not are fuzzier than ever.

The fundamental question I ask is this:  What business are you really in?  It's critical that every "broadcaster" understand this if we are to effectively navigate the future.

So I hope you enjoy and gain something from what is an uncharacteristically personal presentation.

  • Thanks Faron!
  • You are rocking our WAY-FM world, Mark. I saw the presentation live, now I'm watching it again, and I'm thinking "What can WAY-FM be?"

Years ago a heard a fellow named Rick Sklar speak and I took one of his hand outs that I carried around forever it seems like. The simple premise is: think like and be a listener.
We need to get on the other side of our business so we understand our business. Just be one of the listeners.
  • Mark, well done! It boils down to "faith without works is dead...". Just do it, baby!
    In Christ,

  • Thanks Tim. That means a lot coming from you!
