Only 11% of Americans own HD TV. Recall the government was going to require TV broadcasters to deliver programming only in HD…and that has been postponed at least twice and could be again.
Remember when quad-broadcasting was supposed to be the “thing?” Very few tried to upgrade their existing radio.
Now, even though HD is promoted by virtually every radio station, very few are in the mood or position to replace 7 radios with this new fangled thing.
And if a person does, listening will be like a jukebox…and they can get that in a number of formats filled with the music they really like!
